Organic Skincare

If you’ve read my post “why are you still using that?” Then you know I have an opinion or two about products. I’m all about the science behind the products and why they work. As a bit of an ingredient nerd and a healthy skin advocate, it’s important to me that each ingredient is chosen with thoughtful consideration for the skin it’s going to care for. Some ingredients are developed in a laboratory because they need to accomplish something that nature cannot, but there are many natural and organic products that are still results-driven and are very effective.

My very favorite of these is Eminence Organics. This product line, originally just called Eminence, was conceptualized by the Koronczay family (there will be no pronunciation key), who’s generations of aestheticians have been formulating their own skincare on organic farms in Hungary for decades. I had the pleasure of meeting and training with Boldijarre Koronczay twenty(ish) years ago in Philadelphia. He had an amazing passion for healthy skin and a vision for a skincare line that was certified organic but could still produce visible change in the skin.

What is “Certified Organic“ in Skincare Products?

What does it mean to be “certified organic”? It means that the produce used in the formulation of the products complied with organic growth guidelines…and they are strict! Organic certification requires that farmers and handlers document their processes and get inspected every year. Organic on-site inspections account for every component of the operation, including, but not limited to, seed sources, soil conditions, crop health, weed and pest management, water systems, inputs, contamination and commingling risks and prevention, as well as record-keeping. The farm can not have had prohibited substances like synthetic fertilizers and pesticides applied for three years prior to harvest either! Boldijarre, who had grown up harvesting organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs, knew that his farms were compliant and therefore could be certified organic. Eminence skincare then became Eminence Organics.

Why I Support Eminence Organics for Skincare

Using ingredients whose efficacy is backed by research, each product is carefully crafted to give optimal and predictable results while feeling amazing. With ingredients like Mangosteen, Stone Crop, Naseberry, Guava, and Bamboo, you can imagine how great they smell too!

I feel especially good supporting a company who goes the extra mile to reduce their carbon footprint. The Eminence Organics farm uses wind and solar power energy to fuel the manufacturing of their products, and as if that’s not enough, they plant a tree for every retail product they sell. The company is responsible for having planted over 14 million trees worldwide. There are a lot of products to choose from, so I recommend getting the advice of your aesthetician before purchasing.
